Hot Glass - ‘I Wouldn’t Forget EP’

Since dropping debut track ‘I Wouldn’t Forget’ many months ago, Hot Glass has been firmly on the Fuzzbook radar.

I was left longing for more from the Brighton shoegazer, and alas an EP has now arrived. All 5 tracks on the ‘I Wouldn’t Forget EP’ (available on tape) are wonderfully woozy and reek of exceptionally crafted 90’s inspired shoegaze. This is a great headphone EP, perfect for blocking out the rush when walking to work.

New Fuzztape - ‘FIY’

This week Fuzzbook is celebrating it’s 1st Birthday! Mental huh?

This gives us as good an excuse as any to make a new fuzztape for your ears. Play it loud and invite all your friends round for a ‘Fuzzbook is 1 party’ or you can just listen to it on your own, either way is cool.

Thanks for reading for the last year. Huzzah!

Sisterland - ‘Certain Taste / Between Us’

‘Certain Taste / Between Us’ is the new double A-side from Leicester fuzz princes Sisterland.

Both tracks were recorded by the band themselves in a self built studio. With songs like these, it is clear why Sisterland are one of the biggest names on the UK DIY scene at the moment.

The single is out now to stream and download via Blessing Force’s BANDCAMP page.

Summer Schatzies - ‘Makin’ Out’

‘Makin’ Out’ is a cracking bit of shit amp beachpop from Budapest’s Summer Schatzies.

We know very little about these guys other than it’s beautifully lo-fi, it sounds ace and the band claim to write their songs in five minutes. High five for that.

Best Friends - ‘Mankind’

Sheffield Garage-pop foursome Best Friends are back with an exciting new split cassette alongside fellow Sheffieldians Grazes.

‘Mankind’ is taken from the tape which features 2 songs from both bands. The other Best Friends track entitled ‘Dude Love’ is also a homage to WWF star Mick Foley as is the cover art (which is probably one of our favorite covers ever). Just as good as the art though are the songs. 5 stars all round. Huzzah.

The tape is a split release from Art is Hard and Enjoyment Records and is available to pre-order from 13th August 2012.

Psychic Ills - Take Me With You

New video for a tune you can find in a split 7” with Moon Duo, out August 7th on Sacred Bones.

Mono Myth - ‘Sacred Hand’

‘Scared Hand’ is a fuzzy shoegaze ditty from Nova Scotia’s Mono Myth.

If there are two things Fuzzbook like (and hopefully Fuzzbook readers) it’s lush whirling guitars and distant vocals, Mono Myth deliver the two in abundance. Top Banana.

The track is taken from the band’s self-titled cassette, which can be downloaded from free from BANDCAMP.

The Paellas - ‘Following’

More top surf-pop has surfaced on SOUNDCLOUD from Osaka’s The Paellas. ‘Following’ comes from the upcoming 3 track web EP of the same name.

A bit surf, a bit lo-fi and a bit shoegaze, The Paellas brand of ‘Nitetime Surf-pop’ really floats our boat. All aboard!

Woollen Kits - ‘Down Your Street’

‘Down Your Street’ is another great bit of cheap amp pop from Aussie fuzz-wizards Woollen Kits.

The track is the B-side on the band’s latest 7” ‘Shelley’ which will be released on Trouble In Mind in August 7th. The are going to 500 copies for you to try and get your hands on.

Greetings - ‘When I Get Home’

Welsh fuzzpopping housemates/band Greetings are back with another great track ‘When I Get Home’.

There is no news yet on whether there is an EP in the pipline. Fingers crossed though.

In the meantime listen to a number of their tracks on SOUNDCLOUD.
